OPEN DOOR ART STUDIO & GALLERY

Empowering Artists Through Creative Expression, Representation, and Community Partnerships Since 2007

At Open Door Art Studio & Gallery we believe that all artists deserve a creative space where they can develop unique artistic voices and access opportunities afforded through the arts. By providing individualized support, we empower artists to achieve their ambitions through community partnerships, creative expression, and representation.

Community Partnerships

We strive to introduce the artists we represent to community arts organizations and immerse them in the broader arts community. Through demonstrations, discussions, community exhibition opportunities, on-site art-making, organizational partnerships, and art venue tours, our artists feel the warmth of their surrounding creative community.

Creative Expression

We provide the opportunity for the artists we represent to freely create in a professional art studio. We believe that every artist deserves the freedom to discover their own artistic voice. Through guidance and technique-based instruction, a staff of trained artists promotes individual artistic growth.

Representation

We believe that artists thrive when exposed to opportunities afforded through the arts. Community and in-house exhibition opportunities allow the artists we represent to share their artistic achievements with the greater Columbus community and beyond.

NO OBJECTIONS
Exhibition Dates: 2/9/19 – 3/8/19
Opening Reception: 2/9/19, 5-7 PM

Fall into worlds of captivating color fields, lavish lines, and striking shapes. No Objections showcases Open Door artists who work non-objectively, creating pieces that are aesthetically complex, while void of recognizable imagery. Viewers will not be able to object to these abstract artworks!

Did you know that Open Door exhibitions not only feature works by the talented artists we represent but also offer amazing opportunities for community artists as well? We are currently accepting submissions for No Objections; submit your artwork today!

THIS INSPIRED THAT
Exhibition Dates: 4/6/19 – 5/3/19
Opening Reception: 4/6/19, 5-7 PM

We are opening our doors to creative collaboration! This Inspired That invites selected community artists to hand-pick an Open Door artwork that sparks creative vision. They then use that spark to create a response piece, relating to the original through content, stylization, or subject matter. The two works are displayed side-by-side in an exhibition that highlights artistic admiration.

EPHEMERAL MOMENTS
Exhibition Dates: 5/11/19 – 6/7/19
Opening Reception: 5/11/19, 5-7 PM

Photographers from Open Door and the greater Columbus community warmly invite you to an exhibition of moments in time. With the click of a shutter, a photographer can make an instant last a lifetime. With Ephemeral Moments, no memory is fleeting!

Submissions from community artists are now being accepted for Ephemeral Moments!

WALK OF FAME
Exhibition Dates: 7/13/19 – 8/2/19
Opening Reception: 7/13/19, 5-7 PM

Prepare yourself for a celebrity sighting! Walk of Fame invites you to take a stroll down Hollywood Boulevard and absorb all the glitz and glamour. With this exhibition of celebrity portraits, you are sure to spot your favorite Hollywood heartthrobs and stunning starlets – so get your cameras ready!

We will begin accepting submissions from community artists for Walk of Fame on June 29, 2019.

ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE ART?
Exhibition Dates: 10/12/19 – 11/1/19
Opening Reception: 10/12/19, 5-7 PM

Are You Afraid of the Art? showcases creepy crawly creations. With pieces featuring black cats, spooky bats, and witches’ hats, there is sure to be something to melt even the coldest of hearts! Coinciding with our annual masquerade event, this is the perfect opportunity to eat, drink, and be scary!
