Advisory Councils

Columbus Center for Human Services, Inc. is committed to providing support and services that directly reflect the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families. To achieve this goal, we have formed an Individual Advisory Council and a Family Advisory Council which provide representation and opportunities for dialogue and collaboration with CCHS.

Since 2006, the Individual Advisory Council has worked to ensure that both the perspective and experiences of the individuals we support are integrated into the design, management and quality improvement of our programs and services.

Membership:
Membership is open to all individuals served by Columbus Center for Human Services, Inc. Officers are elected each spring by the membership through a nomination process and a private vote.

Meetings:
Meetings are held quarterly at our 540 Industrial Mile Rd. location.

Current Officers:
President: Linda Hillyer
Vice-President: J. Smith
Secretary: Tom Burton
Meeting Coordinator: Tim Jeffers

The Family Advisory Council promotes supportive relationships between the individuals served, their families, and staff members who are regularly scheduled to provide assistance.  The council provides a vehicle for communication between families and staff and is also intended to create a venue for families to provide input into policy and program development.
