Open Door Art Studio & Gallery is hiring!

As the Community Art & Engagement Coordinator you would play a key role in helping the artists we represent connect and engage with the wider Columbus arts community!


  • Associate degree, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in art related field 
  • Ability to participate and pass the medication administration course
  • Ability to participate and pass First Aid and CPR
  • Attend annual re-certifications and trainings 


  • Structure a monthly calendar of community experiences
  • Work one on one with the CCHS, Inc. Director of Marketing and Communications to promote monthly community experiences to the community at large
  • Provide daily transportation for the individuals we serve
  • Lead monthly meetings with the ODAS&G Community Experience Committee to brainstorm new artist selected community experiences
  • Form partnerships with local community artists, galleries, arts organizations, businesses, etc. that will lead to quality community programming, with an emphasis on the arts
  • Structure tools (i.e. questionnaires, surveys, etc.) that promote quality community-based programming and critical thinking for all ODAS&G staff members to utilize when facilitating community experiences
  • Structure person-centered goals for individuals that we serve, relating to creative expression, community integration, and community employment/career development and planning
  • Complete daily documentation (photographic, written, etc.) as pertaining to person-centered goals  and daily progress to the achievement of said goals
  • Create and maintain artist profiles for the individuals we serve (artist biographies, portfolios, and resumes.)
  • Participate in the facilitation of daily art-making with the individuals we serve
  • Work special events at ODAS&G and in the community (i.e. exhibition openings, fundraisers, ODAS&G Space Rentals, etc.)
  • Provide direct care, as needed (i.e. meal preparations, medication administration, restroom assistance, etc.) 


  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record (less than 6 points)
  • Must be willing to drive company vehicles as well as personal vehicle (must be in good working condition per inspection) for transportation of individuals served
  • Proof of personal auto insurance liability
  • Acceptable BCI&I background check
  • Negative new hire TB test (or chest x-ray)
